St Mary’s College are celebrating with a host of budding medical students, as they prepare to take their next steps towards medical careers after securing excellent A Level and Vocational Results.

St Mary’s College student Raiyan Dhira is celebrating after securing excellent A level results and has his sights set on studying a Physician Associate Degree to lead to a career in the medical sector. Raiyan, who previously attended Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School, secured an A* in Psychology, A in Biology and A in Chemistry.

Raiyan described his time at St Mary’s as “really enjoyable, I feel like I benefitted from the smaller class sizes and friendly atmosphere on campus. St Mary’s is a smaller college so the teachers get to know you really well and you feel really supported.”

BTEC Applied Science is an extremely popular course at St Mary’s College and the exceptional results speak for themselves. Amber Zaigham, who joined St Mary’s from Pleckgate High School, was awarded the highest grade, a D*D*D* and is progressing to UCLan to study Pharmacy. Reflecting on her results Amber said “I’ve always wanted to work as a pharmacist so I am really excited to be joining UCLan. I’ve loved studying at St Mary’s, you really get to know your teachers well and they are very approachable. I would recommend St Mary’s to all my friends and family.”

Syeda Thamina Thasnim, from Accrington will also be joining Amber at UCLan to study Pharmacy after also gaining D*D*D* in Applied Science. Syeda also noted “St Mary’s College is a wonderful place to study, all the staff are really friendly and believed in me which meant I’ve achieved my goal.”

Ayesha Siddiqha Patel is also following her dreams by accepting a place at Bradford University to study Forensic and Medical Science, after securing D*D*D* in Applied Science. Ayesha has always had a keen interest in forensic science and would love to eventually work as a forensic scientist on crime scenes. When asked to sum up St Mary’s Ayesha said “St Mary’s is great, I just wish it hadn’t gone so fast, but time does fly when you’re having fun.”
