Life at Cambridge University

Following on from a visit to Cambridge University in the summer, our Year 13 students had another taste of life at the prestigious University from ex – St Mary’s student Jess Henderson, who is currently in her third year studying the topics of Human, Social and Political Sciences.

During last summer’s visit, our Year 13 students attended the Oxbridge Regional Conference along with trips to both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, staying at our partner college St Johns.

Jess Henderson, former youth MP for Blackburn with Darwen Council gave an inspiring talk to our students where she covered a range of topics including how to choose your college, the Tripos System and myths surrounding Cambridge!

Mr Lamb, Head of History said:

“We were delighted to welcome Jess back to college to speak with our aspiring university applicants, including those interested in Oxford or Cambridge.  Jess is currently studying Human Social and Political Sciences at Robinson College, Cambridge and it is always very helpful when former St Mary’s students return to share their own experiences and offer advice and guidance. Jess gave a very informative and inspiring presentation about Oxbridge and her own progress from St Mary’s to Cambridge. We wish her well for the future and look forward to her continued association with us.”
