Do you enjoy discovering how things work and how science is involved in the world around you? If you enjoy learning about Science through a variety of different teaching methods and practical work to see theories in action, then BTEC Level 2 in Applied Science is the right course for you.
The course is equivalent to 2 GCSEs and will equip you with the skills to progress onto Level 3 in Applied Science or an apprenticeship.
General Entry Requirements:
Level 2 Vocational programmes require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 3.
Subject Specific Requirements:
English Language GCSE Grade 3, Maths GCSE Grade 3 and Science GCSE 3-3
How will I be assessed?
You will study 8 units, 2 of these units will be assessed by external exams In March 2021. The remaining units will be assessed by your tutors and verified externally. Examples of assessed work could be presentations, practical work, written reports and posters.
Assessment is ongoing through the year, therefore it is easy to keep track of your progress.
Where does it lead?
The majority of Level 2 Applied Science students will progress onto Level 3 Applied Science here at St Mary’s College.
