The O'Neill Academy For Performing Arts
Opened in 2008 and named after a previous and much loved Principal, Kevin O'Neill, the Academy is a fitting location for our grade 1 ‘outstanding ‘faculty of Performing Arts.
This magnificent building has been designed with a 200- seat theatre at its centre. Industry standard lighting and sound equipment mean that students benefit from the very best in professional facilities. The O’Neill Theatre is surrounded by spacious drama studios, theory classrooms and a sprung-floor dance studio complete with mirrors and ballet-bar. Music students can now enjoy their own dedicated facilities in the centre, including large classrooms with Apple Mac computers for sound recording and editing, two live studios and additional practice rooms.
This centre is the perfect setting for the four AS/A Levels offered in Dance, Drama and Theatre, Music and Music Technology. In addition students can now apply for two new BTEC courses (equivalent to one AS/A2 level) in Music Performance and Performing Arts (Musical Theatre).
