Accessibility
We have designed and constructed this site with the emphasis on accessibility. We have complied with DDA guidelines and indepted to the help and advice provided by Blackburn and District Blind Society.
These are the features which assist accessibility:
Screen Size
If you need to view the site at a larger scale then increase the text size or enlarge the view (depending on the browser you are using) and the whole site will increase in size proportionally.
Standards Compliance
The site complies with W3C CSS and W3C XHTML standards.
Navigation Aids
All the pages include a search box and link to a site map.
Links
Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail unless the text of the link already aptly describes the target.
Images
All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.
Visual Design
This site uses cascading style sheets (CSS) for the visual layout. The font sizes are compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets, then the content of each page is still readable.
